It is the first day of Advent, and Paul and his family have just lit the first candle on the Advent wreath. Paul is looking at the wreath when the flame of the candle flickers. Everyone else in the family thinks nothing of it and they go back to what they are doing, but Paul notices something. He sees that there is a tiny little man standing on the wreath, and he is trying to get his red scarf, which is tangled up in the pine needles. Paul gently untangles the scarf and then he follows the little man, who runs and hides in Paul’s room.

In Paul’s room, the little man explains that he is Paul’s Advent elf. It is his job to make sure that Paul has a happy and safe Advent. Unfortunately, the elf is in training and he accidentally fell out of Paul’s Advent wreath. Somehow Paul has to find a way to get his elf back where he belongs without anyone knowing what is going on.

Children who have a fondness for Christmas elves are sure to enjoy this charming holiday tale.
